At Living Waters Church, we believe that no matter who you are or where you've been, Jesus offers a fresh start and a new way to live—full of hope, purpose, and joy.
We’re a vibrant Christian fellowship based in Gibraltar, made up of everyday people who have encountered the life-changing love of God. Our name comes from the words of Jesus:
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.) (John 7:37–38)
These “living waters” are more than just words—they’re a promise. A promise of grace for the weary, peace for the restless, joy for the brokenhearted, and power for those who feel powerless.
Many of us have found healing, freedom, and a deeper sense of belonging here—and we believe the same is waiting for you. So whether you're exploring faith for the first time, coming back after a long journey, or simply curious, we invite you to come and see.
Jesus changes everything. Let Him change your story too.
The water’s fine—come on in.
Living Waters Church was planted by a handful of believers in 2002. Since then, LWC has journeyed through many seasons—gathering in homes, halls, and borrowed churches. Through it all, one thing has remained the same: Jesus at the centre, and a people committed to His presence, His Word, and His mission.
In 2017, we were incredibly blessed to be allocated permanent premises by HM Government of Gibraltar at the beautiful and historic Wellington Front on Line Wall Road. Nestled within the old city walls, this unique location has become our home—housing both our auditorium and our welcoming church café. It's more than just a building; it's a place where lives are changed, friendships are formed, and God’s presence is encountered.
We are not affiliated with any denomination but are in partnership with other churches and like-minded networks. Living Waters Church is a member of the Evangelical Alliance of Gibraltar.
John Baw
founder / pastor
Above everything else, John is mortified that he cannot make the above picture smaller (Blame the website guy). He has been leading the church in a bi-vocational (that is a sophisticated way of saying “part-time”) capacity since its foundation in 2002.
John and Annabelle have been married for 25 years and have three wonderful boys, Aaron, Eli and Ethan.
Before helping to plant the church, John served on a leadership team in Spain. He has helped to launch various nonprofit initiatives and ministries in Gibraltar.

At Living Waters Church, we believe that Jesus is making all things new—including us. Our vision is to be a community of hope where people can encounter God, discover purpose, and live out His love in Gibraltar and beyond.
We are a group of everyday people learning to follow Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and seeking to live out His story—a story of healing, grace, and transformation.
No matter your background, doubts, or questions—you are welcome here.
We believe God’s love is real and personal. He meets us where we are and invites us into a better story—a life of meaning, healing, and connection with Him and others.
We were made to know and enjoy God. That’s why we worship—not just with music on Sundays, but with our whole lives, every day of the week.
We don’t try to do life on our own. The Holy Spirit is God with us—bringing peace, power, comfort, and courage. He helps us love like Jesus and do what Jesus did.
Church isn’t just a building—it’s a family. We believe in doing life together through real friendships, shared struggles, prayer, meals, and encouragement.
Jesus didn’t just talk about love—He showed it in action. We aim to do the same: serving our city, feeding the hungry, helping the hurting, and standing up for those without a voice.
Jesus' message still changes lives today. We want to share it in ways that make sense—clear, honest, and full of hope.
We believe God is on a mission to restore everything that’s broken—our hearts, our relationships, our communities, and our world. And He invites you to be a part of that.
We do this by:
Welcoming Everyone – Come as you are. You don’t have to have it all together.
Learning to Follow Jesus – Together, we’re discovering what it means to live like He lived.
Caring for Each Other – We want to be the kind of people who show up, listen, and love well.
Making a Difference – We look for everyday ways to bring hope, kindness, and justice to the world around us.
If you’re searching for something real, if you're thirsty for peace, purpose, or a fresh start—Jesus offers living water that never runs dry.
Let’s walk this journey together.
ABOUT GOD. We believe there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self- existent - one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
ABOUT THE BIBLE: WE believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
ABOUT HUMANITY: We believe that humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we wilfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death and judgment entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.
ABOUT JESUS: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s Kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today, in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is “true God” and “true man.”
ABOUT SALVATION: We believe that we are are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing and receiving Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. The Holy Spirit, convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters.
ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live holy and minister super-naturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4 is poured out on believers that they might have power to be witnesses.
The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy * sin, lies, sickness and torment.
ABOUT THE CHURCH: We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His church the ordinances of Baptism and Communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, discipling the nations, baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.
ABOUT THE HOPE FOR WHICH WE LIVE: We believe in the ever increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His overcoming bride * His church. Heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.
